I was very excited when I saw that this was on Netflix. Stumbling around the horror movie trailer section of YouTube a while back I saw the trailer for this and wanted to see it. I guess I kind of forgot about it because before I knew it, it popped up on New Releases.

All I really knew from the trailer and quick synopsis is that Ig (played by Daniel Redcliff) is accused of killing his girlfriend and grows a pair of horns. That sounds pretty cool to me. Not the girlfriend killing, but the horns. So, everyone thinks he killed his lady and is so torn up about loosing her, he tries to dull the pain with drinking. Evey one in his town and reporters just looking for a story assault him with insults and calling him the devil and it starts to manifest. He wakes up one morning with small horns starting to protrude from his forehead. After that, it all goes a little weird and truthful. He very quickly discovers that all the people he talks to know speak their minds, revealing dark, secret, inner truths. People admit to wanting to kick kids, wanting to show their dick to everyone, and his mother even reveals that she thinks he killed his girlfriend and wants him to leave and not be her son anymore. 

Using his new horny powers he talks to people to try and figure out who killed his lady. The movie had a few surprises and it wasn't boring and predictable. I even got a little weepy at the end. No surprise there. I cry at everything. I'm all, "Oh my God, a squirrel." *tears*

I give this movie 4 Horny Daniel Radcliffs. 

Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is very popular and with very good reason. The story is just plain great. As much as I love the story I have to admit I can only take this show in bites sizes. A bit of en episode here, some there, and a little more over there. it is so dark and so much happens that is terrible, sad, disappointing, upsetting, horrible, and just plain bad. It really ruins my mood if I watch too much in too short a time.

This latest season, 4, was just as good as the previous ones. Jesse and Walt are cooking meth, trying to survive, and live their lives. The thing that stuck with me most this season was the change in Walt. Obviously he has been doing questionable things, doing illegal things, and has been changing. but, this season he really takes a sharp turn into darkness. 

I really can't say too much about the show because I will give something away. So much of the show is building off of little things. It is all stacked up.

netflix gave Breaking Bad 4.5 stars and I give 4.5 meth cooking fellas.

Wilfred

I am not even sure why I really picked this to watch but I did. I guess perhaps because I like Elijah Wood. He is super cute and I loved Lord of the Rings. The synopsis looked cute so I clicked play. I was just enchanted by this show right from beginning to end. The moment the show ended I said, "I liked it too much". I didn't want it to end. The character Ryan played by super cute Elijah Wood is so scared to live and tries to off himself. After it does not work he starts seeing his neighbors dog,Wilfred, as a fella in a dog suit.

Wilfred is just the funniest. I love his doggy logic that he explains and tries to apply it to Ryan. I also love all the fart talk. Wilfred being a dog is really into butts and farts. He is always sniffing butts and farts to find out about people. He can tell so much from so little. It is really funny. I also love how matter of fact he is about everything. He just lays it out there. Wilfred also has a large stuffed animal bear that he humps constantly and has a strained relationship with.

I can't wait for the 2nd season and will watch it as soon as it is up. Netflix gave Wilfred 4.4 stars and I give it 5 sloppy imaginary doggy kisses.

Netflix recommended this movie to me since I enjoyed movies like Behind the Mask and Tucker and Dale Vs Evil. I was in a mood for a spoof/making fun of movie last night so I fired this baby up. I really like to watch the ghost hunting shows because of how ridiculous those people are. I am a super skeptic when it comes to ghosts and the lot but I want to believe. I want there to be more and be things we don't know about. In all the shows I have watched I never seen anything that is unexplainable.

Anyway, It started out like most of those shows do. introduce you to the ghost hunting crew, show off the "haunted" place, and set up for a spooky night inside. I have to admit I actually got a couple shivers from this movie. It was not funny/spoofy, it was just a scary movie using the ghost hunting premise. It shows the footage that the crew shot. You follow them along their journey of having little strange things happening to all out ghosts killing people. I really enjoyed the ending but I feeling I had seen it somewhere before in another movie. 

Netflix thought I would like it 3.5 stars and I liked it 4 scary fake ghosts.

I am not exactly sure why I decided to watch this movie but I am very happy that I did. It kind of stuck with me. I caught myself telling people about it and telling them about how great it is. The subject matter is really interesting, the music is great, and the story that the movie tells is compelling. 

The movie follows Justin Duerr, a man who is trying to solve the mystery of the Toynbee Tiles. Starting in Philadelphia tiles were spotted all over the city. In the middle of the roads and other places there are tiles that say...

For the first part of the investigation I didn't think they were going to find the person responsible for the tiles but the further in they got, the more I thought they could and would. I really wanted to find out. It was captivating.

This show came as a recommendation to me from my sister in law who I am pretty sure watches as much Netflix as I do. I think between the two of us we will watch everything on there by this Wednesday. We were talking about something on Netflix and she told me about this show that had an episode where a woman who falls and breaks her pelvis while running in a canyon. She is stranded for days while her dog stays by her side. My sister in law got all teary eyed just telling me about it and I cried a little bit watching it. I am not afraid to admit that I cried, I cry a lot. Boom.

Each episode tells the story and does recreations. The recreations are pretty good too. Sometimes they are a little cheesy or bad looking but this show does okay. There are stories about getting stuck at ocean, in the woods, in blizzards, on rivers, and everything in between. They cover it all. It is one of those shows where while you are watching it you are just thinking about what you would do in the same situation. I am pretty sure I would have died in most of them. Especially in the ones where people get lost at sea. I am pretty scared of the ocean and almost everything in it. Not sharks so much but, everything else. Fish, parasites, jelly fish, and so much more. Also, I burn easily.

I am going to talk a bit about me and not so much about Netflix for a little bit. People make fun of me because I carry a large and somewhat heavy bag at all times. I like having certain items with me when I go out. Somethings are the obvious items you would expect to find in a girls purse; wallet, keys, chap stick, and tampons. I also like to have some items to entertain me; book, mp3 players/ear buds, phone, Kindle Fire, and my moleskin sketch pad. Now, the next items are the thing that would keep me alive or at least give me better chances of living in these terrible situations. Swiss Army knife, little flashlight, mirror, bottle of water, gum and candy, tissues, paper and pen, little scissors, tweezers, and a lighter. 

That is just what I carry with me on an average day. If I were to ever go on a hike or anywhere I would prepare to the extreme. I find with this show people are in trouble because of a few things. One, they don't bring a cell phone with them. Two, they don't bring any or enough supplies. Not this girl.

So, watch an episode or two and think about what you would do if you were stuck in a blizzard or swept out to sea on a tiny rowboat. Netflix gave it 4 stars and I also give it 4 large bags filled with life saving items.

Bear Nation

I was browsing through the movies with nothing in particular that I wanted to watch and this movie poster and title caught my eye. I saw the words "From the makers of Small Town Gay Bar" and I knew I wanted to watch it. Being a fan of Kevin Smith and his podcast, SModcast, I was familiar with his friend that he has on his show, Malcolm Ingram. Malcolm is one of his close friends and often comes on his podcast and freely talks about being a Bear and being gay. He is very funny and I really like listening to the 2 of them talk. They are just the funniest. Malcolm has directed 3 movies. The last 2 pertaining to being gay.

I watched Small Town Gay Bar quite some time ago here on Netflix and it was great. (I really recommend you give it a watch) I really enjoy movies where I can learn something about another lifestyle or learn about other people. Bear Nation taught me a bit about the Bear community withing the gay community. All the interviews were interesting and heartfelt. Just like any group of people that have an interest, quality, or aspect that make them different there is something to be learned. Just like any other niche there are many details, rules, and dynamics. There are Bears, large hairy gay men. And there are people who are attracted to these men and their type in particular. It sounds so cut and dry but there is much more to it. There are different types of bears and differing opinions.

The movies shows you different Bears in their home towns and also at conventions. I think conventions are the best things ever for being around like minded people who enjoy what you do and spending time together. It was great seeing the hotels that they were staying at just bursting with large hairy guys. Not only are they able to attend cons but there is a thriving presence on line. It is nice to have a place that you can go on line even if you don't have any close or local people that you can meet with. 

I don't want to give too much away so I won't say anymore so you can really enjoy the movie. it is really short so it is an easy watch and they keep it pretty light hearted. Netflix gave it 3.2 stars and I give it 4 big, hairy, gay men.

The Addams Family movies are so great. This is the 2nd of them and I think my favorite. The story of Fester and the nanny is great and I love the kids, Wednesday and Pugsley, being at summer camp. I went to summer camp for quite a few years so I loved all the camp humor. To be honest though, all the humor in this movie is great. I laughed so much.

My husband and I do a lot of quoting of movies and shows and there are quite a few from this one. My favorite is when the 2 kids are going to behead the baby.

Hostel: Part III

I love it when there is a successful scary/horror movie and it does really well so they make a sequel, and then another, and another, and another, and so on. The more movies the "better" they get with each one. Hellraiser is a perfect example. This 3rd movie is just what I like. It follows the formula of the first Hostel movie, but it is just in Las Vegas instead of Europe. A group of friends get caught up in the game of rich people loving murder. 

The thing that makes this movie different is the murdering. It is not like the first movie where rich people are murdering people for fun. This time, it is a gambling game. Rich people make bets on how people will react with they are tortured. Because it's in Vegas! Get it? Ehhhhhh? Clever?

I don't want to give too much away but the people in this movie die in some very interesting ways. One fella gets his face cut off, another has many crossbow bolts shot into him, and my favorite. A girl gets tied down, sprayed with some soft of liquid, has bugs dumped on her, and then they all run into her mouth and I guess choke her to death. 

Netflix gave this movie 3.3 Stars and I give it 3 dead Las Vegas strippers.

Louie

Written and directed by comic Louis C.K. -- who plays a fictionalized version of himself -- this FX series eschews sitcom structure for a loose format that lets single dad Louie be his irascible self -- through vignettes, club performances and more. More at Netflix!

Louie is so funny. I watched his stand up special a bit back and I guess that put me in the mood for more Louie so I watched his show and laughed so much. If you haven't seen his stand up or show you have to watch them. He is so funny. He is so blunt and has no problem with saying things that other people might not be brave enough to say. He often says horrible things about his children and it is the greatest. I love it. 

I really hope his life is not exactly like it is depicted on his show. Because if so, it is depressing. There are so many awkward moments, angry people, and terrible situations. I just want to hug him and try to make his life better. In one episode he and his two daughters are driving to meet a 97 year old family member to talk with her and hear stories. The whole drive there his daughters complain and then they get there and Great Aunt Ellen is racist and then dies within 3 minutes. Fun.

Netflix gives Louie 4.3 stars and I give it 5 bags of dicks.

Darkon

Since I watched The Wild Hunt Netflix has been suggesting Live Role Playing movies and lots and lots of documentaries. Among the new movies I saw Darkon. The plot sounded really interesting so I fired it up. Darkon is all documentary and not like The Wild Hunt. It follows several people who Larp as a hobby and really love it. I find many, if not all, LARP to feel like more and lead a different life from their normal life. I can understand that. Almost everyone's life is pretty boring and sometimes I wish something exciting would happen. Pretending to be a fighter, mage, elf, or orc sounds like a good time to take your mind off things.

Even though I really enjoyed the movie and enjoyed The Wild Hunt I kind of wish I could watch a funny and happier movie that was about role playing. Both of these movies, and especially Darkon, are kind of sad. They make these people look a bit depressing and sad. I am sure there are lots of people who role play and are happy. I am happy and want to RP.  I find that "nerds" and dorky people are often shown as sad and pitiful people with poor social skills. Oh well. 

Netflix gave this movie 3.3 stars and I give it 4 foam swords.

South Park Season 15

The other night I wanted something super fast to watch and en episode of South Park was just the perfect thing. They are quick, easy, and funny as all heck. the 15th season is now on Netflix so I started 15-1,  The HumancentiPad. Genius. I loved the Human Centipede movie so that, plus South Park, makes for a fun time. Like all of their other episodes it was perfect. Matt and Trey have such a great sense of humor and such a gift for clever writing. I saw the mini movie, 6 Days to Air, and it was made while they were working on this particular episode. It was neat to see the episode that they talk about. It came out well and all their hard work was worth it.

All I can say about this episode and season 15 is watch it. So funny. 5 Profane Stars.

Thor

I am a big nerd and I love nerd type things. Anime, comic books, D&D..... the whole lot. Comic book movies are something that I like but there is always a cautiousness when it comes to watching them. I hope they are good but I don't get my hopes up too much. Thor was a pleasant surprise. I watched it for the first time months ago and really enjoyed it. I found Thor to be very charismatic and Loki to be the cutest. I think it is his smile. It is so nice. 

This time this weekend when I watched it for the second time I still enjoyed it but not nearly as much. It kind of had a hard time keeping my attention. I found myself thinking about other things while watching it. The parts I found the most entertaining were the ones with Loki. I care about his part of the story. I am sure he will be my favorite pat of The Avengers. I am not sure why this watch through didn't hold my attention as it did the first time. I watch tons of movies and shows multiple times and I usually love them as much the 3rd time as I do the 1st. Thor just didn't. 

I bought all the actors as their respective characters except Natalie Portman. Perhaps it is because I can only see her as Natalie Portman and that is it. I couldn't buy her as a astrophysicist. 

Even though I didn't care for it the second time around I still think you should watch it if you haven't already. 

Netflix gave Thor 4 stars and I give it 4 Thor hammers. A perfect match.

Jim Gaffigan: Mr. Universe

I remember seeing Jim Gaffigan years ago before I really knew who he was or how funny he was. I loved him from the first 30 seconds of his show. He was super funny back then and he is just as funny today. I love his little voice that he does and the supposed thoughts of the audience. They are spot on and make his humor his own and stand out. 

I started this comedy special up on Saturday because my husband was jumping in the shower and was going to be busy for a little while. 20 seconds after I started it up I heard the same music in the bathroom. Turns out my husband had the same idea as me because he just stared it up as well with his Ipad in the bathroom. I matched mine up with his so when he got done with his shower we could watch it in the living room together without a hitch. 

This stand up performance was just as funny as his other ones. I laughed a lot and my husband laughed a lot as well. The only thing I didn't find super funny was all the humor about his kids. Since I don't have kids of my own or particularity like kids, I don't find humor about kids and raising them great. But, since Jim Gaffigan is so funny and I like his sense of humor he made it funny.

Netflix gave Mr. Universe 4.3 stars and I give it 5 cute funny kittens.

Jackass 2.5 and Jackass 3

My husband and I watched these two movies back to back. We were in a mood to watch these movies and these are the only 2 on Netflix so we watched them happily. I think I have seen these movies over 9 times. I can watch them over and over. Watching these guys doing stupid stunts, getting hurt, and being all round funny is the best. I don't go to the theater often (2 times a year) but I went to see the 2nd and 3rd ones at the cinema. 

As mean as it sounds I love watching Danger Ehren getting hurt. I don't know. I know it is horrible but I can't help it. He looks so funny and says the funniest things. He just kills me. I love the bit where he gets kicked by a donkey. 

All of the  Jackass guys are super funny and make me laugh so much. Johnny Knoxville is cute and I love it when he gets done up like an old man and causes problems. Bam puts so many things up his butt just to get a laugh. Steve-o has the best laugh and his gag reflex makes me laugh. That man can't not vomit. Wee Man is always up for anything and I love when he hides in small places and scares people. Preston is such a good sport. He lets those guys shoot him, paint him, and keeps a smile on his face. Ryan has the best beard, plain and simple. Chris Pontius seems like he is having the time of his life all the time. Dave England is a professional shitter and uses his gift to make people laugh.

If you like to laugh watch these movies. Netflix gave these movies 3.9 and 3.4 stars and I give both of them 5 poo covered funny stars.

Wet Hot American Summer

 It's the last day of summer for Camp Firewood's staff and patrons, and everyone wants a final shot at some action. For Beth (Janeane Garofalo), that means getting it on with nerdy astrophysicist Henry (David Hyde Pierce). Ditto for the lovelorn Coop (Michael Showalter), who'd like nothing better than to lip-lock with fellow counselor Katie (Marguerite Moreau). This movie has so many funny people in it. It has been years since I saw it for the first time I don't remember all these people being in it. I think I saw it before I knew of all of them. This time around I think I was laughing constantly. This movie is so ridiculous and the humor is so for me. I think a good example of  the humor is when the counselors go into town for an hour. They get something to eat, get some beer, buy crack, get addicted to drugs, end up getting strung out and passing out in a crack house; and then they go back to camp like nothing happened.

Being a person who went to summer camp many years in row as a camper and then as a counselor I really enjoy certain jokes. There is a kid who hasn't taken a shower one time during camp it really true. There is always one, if not more than one.

Just watch it. Netflix gave it 3.6 stars and I give it 5 happy campers.

The Wild Hunt

This was just a random movie that I watched because I liked the look of the cover and when I saw the synopsis I saw it was about LARPing. Great! Being a super nerdy girl (I love video games, anime, D&D, and cosplaying) I thought I would give this movie a try. The movie starts as if it is a serious fantasy movie. A king and one of his subjects are quarreling and soon it comes down to a sword fight. It takes a light hearted turn when they start hitting each other with foam swords. 

I thought it was going to be a funny movie, it does have humor, but it is not just a funny movie. It is one of those catch all movies with a little bit of everything. The story follows a love triangle, a loving big brother, and a large group of LARP friends. This movie made me want to try a weekend of LARP. It looks fun. The outfits, fun stories, and  excitement. The last part of the movie takes a drastic and for me, unexpected turn. 

I highly suggest checking this movie out. Whether you are into LARP or just like a good story, watch it. Netflix gives it 3.3 stars and I give it 5 scary antler bone heads.

What I Watched on Netflix Podcast Coming!

Yes! It is happening. I tried to make this happen quite a while ago but it didn't happen for reasons. Now, it is in the works. I will start recording next week and hopefully release it within the next few weeks. It might take a little time to figure out how to actually make the podcast available, but I can do it. 

The first podcast will most likely just be me but then..... I will have guests. Friends and family who I think will entertain. My husband, sister in law, and a couple of friends who are very funny and will make for interesting shows. Just a warning, when my sister in law comes on the show be prepared for lots of penis jokes. They will be plenty.

Now you are warned. I will post more as the podcast comes along. Hopefully there are no problems or difficulties publishing it.

Don't Be Afraid of the Dark

This was another random movie that just watched because I like the cover of the movie. Within 30 seconds I knew this movie was directed by Guillermo del Toro. I didn't see his name on the cover because I was not paying too much attention. But, his style of direction is so recognizable. It is just so him. I saw Pan's Labyrinth when it came out and I just loved it. It was dark but whimsical. Kind of like Tim Burton but I like del Toro's style much more. Pan's Labyrinth made me a fan of him. I watched The Orphanage and just kind of liked it. I wanted to like it more but just couldn't. Anywhoo...

If I had seen this movie when I was a little girl I would have loved it beyond belief. I have a soft spot for movies where people move into a new house and there is something going on and they uncover it through exploration and luck. I think I like it because I want to move into a big house and have a mystery surrounding it. Nothing terrible, just something unknown. Secret rooms and passageways, skeleton keys, and attics with dusty old treasures.

Del Toro has a knack at making scary and interesting monsters and the ones in this movie are perfect. The drawings of the monsters are even scarier than the monsters themselves. I kind of wish they had shown the drawings before the monsters. It would have made them even creepier. Even though the little monsters are super scary I didn't think about them that evening when I went to bed. I have a habit of thinking about scary things when I go to bed. I don't get scared like a little kid and then can't sleep but I do get nervous. Not with this movie though, I think it just didn't pop into my mind while falling asleep. Paranormal Activity though, that is a different story. 

The ending was good, I kind of wish it had ended a bit differently though. As a child I would see it differently but now that I am older I see it from a different point of view. I tend to put myself into the roles when I watch movies. This is why I cry a lot when I watch movies and shows, and even when I read books.

Netflix game this movie 3.4 Stars and I give it 5 Scary Monsters.

I am going to start by saying to watch this movie. You will like it. I watched this movie because I liked the look of the cover and the name. That is it. I didn't even look at the synopsis. I love the cover for the movie. His piercing eyes and black painted cheeks peeking out from under his hood make him look so dark and cool. 

The name of the movie and the synopsis make it sound a bit like a normal super hero movie but it is far from it. There is a bit of ass kicking an it pretty awesome. I could have used a bit more dolling out of the justice. 

While watching the movie I knew I knew his face from somewhere but I could not place it so I looked him up. Apparently, I know him from several places. He was in Lost, The Unit, and Zoey 101. Where most people might recognize him is from True Blood as Tolliver Humphries. He was very good in this movie and fell into the role easily.  He was very believable. The end of the movie was great and does not disappoint.

Netflix gave this movie 3.8 stars and I give it 4 super heroes.
